"Geometric spin manipulation and relaxation"

Abstract: We describe the effect of geometric phases induced by
electric fields on single electron quantum dots (i.e. spin qubits) in
the
presence of spin-orbit coupling. We show how they can induce spin
decay or alternatively be exploited to perform coherent and
controlled spin manipulation even without external magnetic fields.
