Important - organization news about ICTF-JVC 2020 Budapest

Dear Colleague,

We would like to share some updates with you according to the upcoming 18th International Conference on Thin Films and 18th Joint Vacuum Conference (https://www.ictf-jvc.com/).

*The conference will be held between 22-26 November 2020* in the recently renovated 4-star Mercure Budapest Castle Hill Hotel, in the neighbourhood of the historical Castle District. The hotel provides accommodation at lower prices for the ICTF-JVC 2020 participant - please visit our website to learn more.

Considering the changing circumstances around the world we would like to ensure you that ICTF-JVC 2020 will adapt to any challenge and provide you safe and comfortable service. Right now the COVID situation in Hungary is under control. Furthermore, the citizens of European Union from most of the member states can enter Hungary without any special actions. We would like to hold the conference in traditionally personal way, however we are preparing for the switch to online or semi-online conference in case of need.

We would like to support the scientific community with postponing the *abstract submission deadline to 15 October.*

For those who are not able to attend the conference because of the COVID case the online solution is the following: the presenter will be asked to prerecord his/her presentation (technical support will be available) and to send it to the Organization Committee in advance. The appropriate online platform for online conference is under selection. The scientific programme will be similar as at traditional conferences, the next presenter's record will be streamed, then for the questions and answers the presenter will be available online at the moment the presentation is over (the same for poster presentations).

Soon we will also let you know about how the online registration fees will differ from the offline registrations.

We are looking forward to meeting you in November!

Kind regards,
Organizing Committee
