Kivonat:
The development of accelerator mass spectrometry greatly expanded the
possibilities for dating of works of art and valuable artifacts. Since only a
very small sample is needed, radiocarbon dating is now routinely applied to
dating of valuable art works and other artifacts. I will discuss some
examples, some well-known and some not so well-known. Dating of these types
of samples also requires that the scientists be able to communicate the
results of their investigations in a form understandable to non-scientists.
Latest developments and results in this field in ATOMKI AMS C-14 Lab will
also be shown.
