KFKI RMKI Elméleti Főosztály Szemináriuma

Tisztelettel meghívjuk

Makonyi Károly
(Justus-Liebig-Universität, Giessen, Németország)

"In medium properties of \omega and \eta' hadrons in
elementary reactions"

címmel tartandó szemináriumára.

Helye: KFKI RMKI III. ép. Tanácsterem
Ideje: 2011. január 7. péntek du. 14 óra

Kivonat:

It is rather suggestive that the properties of a composite object are
modified once it is placed in a piece of matter (e.g., a nucleus) or in
a heat bath (e.g., a fireball emerging in a relativistic heavy-ion
collision).
Present day's ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions explore the phase
boundary in the limit of high temperatures and low densities. The other
limit (low temperatures and high densities) is harder to reach.
At very low temperatures the only feasible method seems to be the
exploration of the hadronic structure inside ordinary nuclei, at the
prize of a low density. Here the temperature is T = 0 and the density at
most equals the equilibrium density of nuclear matter. It is thus of
great interest to explore if such low densities can already give
precursor signals for chiral symmetry restoration.

Experiments were performed in Bonn (at ELSA) and in Mainz (at MAMI-C) in
order to study the in-medium properties of the \omega and \eta' mesons
produced in different taget-nuclei via elementary reactions (\gamma+A
\rightarrow \omega+p+X, \gamma+A \rightarrow \eta'+p+X).
Different signatures of the in-medium modification of the produced
mesons were considered (mass shift, broadening, ...).
The results of the analyses will be presented.

Szívesen látunk minden érdeklődőt.
Balog János
