                        Fusion for Energy: the ITER project

The ITER project is a controlled fusion experiment being built in 
Cadarache, France by 7 partners: the EU, China, India, Japan, South Korea, 
Russia and the USA. This device aims at demonstrating the controlled 
release of 500 MW fusion power. Fusion for Energy is the European domestic 
Agency for ITER organising the development an construction of about 40% of 
the machine components. The speaker is visiting the campus to explore the 
interests and possibilites of KFKI in the construction fo ITER.
