Tisztelt Listatagok!

Dear members

We are pleased to inform you that the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF),
in collaboration with St. Mark's Senior Secondary Public School, Meera
Bagh and supported by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, will
co-organise the 9th Asia-Europe Classroom Network (AEC-NET) Conference
from 12 - 16 November 2010 in Gurgaon NCR of Delhi, India.

Formerly known as the AEC International Teachers' Conference, the
AEC-NET Conference is an annual meeting since year 2001 that gathers
secondary and high school teachers and educators from Asia and Europe
who take a keen interest in fostering collaborations among their
students using infocomm (ICT) methods and tools. The online
collaborative projects initiated at each Conference are referred to as
the AEC Projects.

Given that 2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity, the 9th
AEC-NET Conference will continue to focus on environment and
sustainable development with a specific theme on "Climate Change and
Biodiversity: How Are They Connected and the Impact of Biodiversity
Loss in the Community in Asia and Europe". The conference aims to
promote understanding on the value of biodiversity and to raise
awareness of conserving biodiversity in the community through the
teachers/educators and students in Asia and Europe.

In brief, the main elements of the conference are:

Professional enrichment for participants on environment and
sustainable development issues
Presentations of AEC Projects, and the presentation of the AEC Awards; and
Discussion and development of future AEC Projects

The 9th AEC-NET Conference is open to all teachers and educators from
the ASEM* countries who would like to propose, or collaborate in ICT
projects designed to promote to secondary and high school students in
Asia and Europe. To enable participants to draw full benefit from the
Conference, they need to:
(a) be proficient in both spoken and written English;
(b) has a keen interest on environment and sustainable development issues;
(c) have sufficient knowledge about ICT generally, and ICT
applications in learning and training; and
(d) be prepared to share their experiences and ideas on ICT
projects and/or propose project ideas.

The organisers will cover all local costs in connection with the
Conference (including 4-nights accommodation, meals, local transport
and other costs to be incurred during the programme). Participants
are, however, requested to cover the travel costs to and from New
Delhi, India either on their own, or with the support of their
secondary/high schools or other agencies.

More information is available at
http://aec.asef.org/aecnet/current_conferences.html. If you have any

Best regards

Angie Toh
