[Mix] How to post on MIX

Dear Colleagues,

it seems that in these exceptional days MIX proves to be a really important tool of keeping the international Mössbauer community together. For using it properly, please observe a few very simple rules.

1. When posting on MIX, never include other addressees in the Cc. Simply send a mail to and only to mix AT lists.kfki.hu and, as a rule, it will be distributed immediately and automatically. The same holds when you reply someone's previous post: don't include further addressees in the Cc.

Not following this rule results in bouncing back your post by many mail servers or directing them to the spam folder. This has just happened to Raphael Hermann (see below). In this case the reason of many refusals was probably the inclusion of Edson Passamani's yahoo.com address. Indeed, some domains (most notably yahoo.com, mail.ru and 163.com)) are blacklisted by very many mailers and mails sent from such addresses or containing such addresses in the Cc are refused or treated as a spam.

2. Unfortunately, still quite many MIX subscribers are registered with their yahoo.com or mail.ru addresses. As a rule, they will receive other subscribers' posts, however, when posting from such addresses or replying from such addresses, the same refusal effect can be expected unavoidably. Therefore please refrain from using these untrusted addresses and make sure, as much as possible, to subscribe with addresses maintained by well-configured institutional mail servers.

Your MIX subscription settings (including your mail address) can be changed any time at https://mailman.kfki.hu/sympa/info/mix

I wish you and your loved ones good health.

With best regards,

Dénes L. Nagy

Dear Edson, all Mossbauer colleagues,

We'll be looking forward to emerging as a stronger community when this
situation wears out.

I also want to point out that the North American Mössbauer Symposium, which was to be held in 15-16 May 2020 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee has not been cancelled as of now. We have postponed to event to 16-17 October 2020. Probably we will be able to assess the feasibility of the meeting only around mid-August and will update at that time.

Best regards,

Keep yourself and loved ones safe,

Raphael Hermann

Dear Edson:

It’s unfortunate that we will miss LACAME 20. I enjoyed LACAME 19 in
Santiago de Chile last year very much.

We also had to cancel the North American Mössbauer Symposium, which was
to be held in 15-16 May 2020 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

It looks like this will be the case for most major meetings in 2020. We
should all be hopeful that we will be able to enjoy each other’s company and
friendship in the coming years. I look forward to see you in ICAME and LACAME
in the near future.

Best regards,

Ercan Alp

and the organizers of LACAME`20 made the tough decision to cancel the
Conference, originally scheduled to be held on October 25-30, 2020 in
Vitória/Brazil, and, to postpone to 2022 (LACAMEŽ22).
