Dear Colleagues,

I have been a very close personal friend of Krzysztof Ruebenbauer since we 
met first and collaborated 29 years ago.  I was totally shocked when I 
learned of his sudden death on April 23.  In addition to being a fantastic 
friend to me, he was also like a brother and an endless supply of useful 
scientific input.  He was a very talented scientist and a very hard worker.  
Physics in general, and Mossbauer spectroscopy in particular, have lost one 
of is best member.
Since I met Krzysztof first a McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, in 
1979, a little over a year ago, I was requested to write an account of his 
activities while he was at McMaster.  I have attached this document, just 
after removing the addressee, for the sake of privacy, and I would like to 
share it with the whole Mossbauer community.
If God exists, Krzysztof deserves to be sitting next to him, in eternal 
peace.  May him rest in peace.  He will be very sadly missed.
