Absztrakt:
"In this seminar, I will provide a brief overview of the ILIL laboratory and
its future, followed by a detailed description of the work I have completed
over the past 3 years as a PhD student there. ILIL hosts a 240 TW Ti:Sa laser
system capable of delivering ultrashort (~27 fs duration) pulses with ~4J of
energy focused on target at 5 Hz repetition rate. Recently, a significant
effort has been made to better characterize Very High Energy Electrons (VHEE)
generated from Laser Wakefield Acceleration (LWFA), ranging from 50-200 MeV,
due to their potential medical applications. To this end, my goal has been to
better characterize such electron beams, focusing mainly on diagnostics. I
will describe a new spectrometer design, a homemade interferometry algorithm,
and our methodology on dosimetry and target irradiation. This work serves as
a prerequisite for an upcoming upgrade of ILIL to 100 Hz high-dose rate
experiments, which the laboratory is now better equipped to carry out."
