Az előadás rövid összefoglalója:

Exawatt or zettawatt laser pulses can provide us with ample opportunity to 
unveil the mysteries of our universe. The most outstanding subjects are 
experiments of vacuum boiling and pair-production, radiation reaction, 
Hawking radiation and quantum gravity, matter-antimatter symmetry breaking in 
early universe, and many others. However, moving from current petawatt lasers 
to exawatt or beyond is strongly restricted by material break-down. Plasma, 
as it is already in a broken-down state of matter, can withstand a highly 
intense laser field. At the same time, plasma is a strongly dispersive 
medium, having a huge potential for being used as an optical device. Here, I 
review innovative ideas conceived in plasma-optics community aiming to 
achieve compact pulse compressors. Specifically, Raman and Brillouin backward 
pulse amplification, plasma gratings, and reflective compression by gradient 
density plasma are introduced.
