following talk:

Speaker: Christian Roos (Innsbruck)
Title: Quantum simulation with strings of trapped ions

About the speaker: Dr. Roos is a senior scientist based in Innsbruck, 
affiliated with the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information of 
the Austrian Academy of Sciences as well as the University of Innsbruck. He 
is an experimental physicist, and his research in the past 25 years has been 
devoted to quantum optics with trapped ions, physics of quantum information, 
precision spectroscopy, and cold atomic gases. His work has yielded many 
breakthrough results and influential publications, greatly shaping and 
advancing these research areas. Most recently, he has been working on, e.g, 
quantum-information scrambling experiments, measurements of the Rényi 
entropy, environment-assisted quantum transport, and benchmarking of noisy 
quantum devices.
