Nanomaterials, like carbon or boron-nitride nanotubes, possess unique electrical, optical and structural properties. To successfully incorporate them in devices or use them in future applications, these properties need to be further tailored by chemical modification or by combination with other materials. In this talk I am going to present spectroscopic studies on different nanotube-based hybrid structures ranging from encapsulated nanomagnets to photovoltaic devices.
