*Quantum Signal Processing: a common generalization of Quantum Walks,
Hamiltonian simulation, and Linear System Solving*

Conference Room
Recent developments in Hamiltonian simulation introduced a technique called
Quantum Signal Processing, which is a quantum control primitive for single
qubit systems. It turned out that this new approach to Hamiltonian
simulation simplifies and generalizes many other quantum computing
protocols as well, including Quantum Walks and exponentially improved
quantum Linear System Solving.
In the talk I will explain how Quantum Signal Processing works on single
qubits, and how the technique can be lifted to higher dimensional systems.
Then I sketch some implications for efficient matrix arithmetic
computations on quantum computers, and explain the relation to Hamiltonian
simulation, Quantum Walks and Linear System Solving.
The talk is based on our recent arXiv preprint:
https://arxiv.org/abs/1806.01838

Everyone is welcome to attend.
