In 1998, the astrophysical factor S34 data difference on direct capture
and activation methods [1] for the reaction rate 3He+4He and its importance
for the Standard Solar Model was the reason for a new experimental quest to
understand the discrepancy. New results introduced a new situation to
clarify: S34 variations for 'old' (before 1998) and 'new' data
(between 1998 and 2009) at higher energies, an important factor in the
theory models used for extrapolations, didn't look the same.
Theorists asked for new experimental data [2,3] in this region.
We started this project with the main goal to clarify the situation.
