Igor Nedzelskiy (IST): HIBP and non-traditional HIBP applications
The presentation consists of two parts. In the first part a heavy ion beam probe (HIBP) diagnostic is briefly considered, including historical overview, basic principles, plasma parameters measurements, problems of HIBP application, examples of the HIBP installation hardware and results of the measurements. Some non-traditional HIBP applications are considered in the second part with an accent on the possibility of combined BES-HIBP application.

Mathias Brix (UKAEA): MSE measurements at JET
An accurate calculation of profiles of the safety factor q and current
density profiles in a tokamak plasma requires internal diagnostic
information. A widely established diagnostic technique is the 'Motional
Stark effect diagnostic (MSE)', which measures the direction of the
linearly polarised beam emission of the heating beams to derive local
information of the poloidal field.
In this talk I will introduce into the principles of the measurement
technique and show results of profiles of the safety factor as derived
from a magnetic equilibrium code EFIT (utilizing magnetics, MSE and
pressure constraints).
