          "Competition between multi-time-scale phenomena
          as a source of complexity in ecological systems"

The dynamics of an ecosystem composed of different agents is governed
by several agent's properties as for example fertility, mobility,
mutations, adaptability to the environment. Some of these properties
may vary in time and complex dynamics can emerge due to the
competition between multiple time-scale phenomena.

Simple models of ecosystems exhibiting such a behavior will be studied
both analytically on the mean-field level and numerically at the level
of individual-based-models.
