Latogatasanak celja, hogy a LIGO es VIRGO gravitacios hullamdetektorokkal folytatott kutatomunkarol, kulonos tekintettel a meresi adatok feldolgozasi modszereinek ismertetesere, tartson az RMKI-Virgo csoport tagjai szamara egy intenziv kurzust. A kapcsolodo eloadassorozat bevezeto reszet --- ezekre szerdan, december 10-en delelott kerul sor --- minden erdeklodo szamara latogathatova kivanjuk tenni. Ezen bevezeto jellegu eloadasok cime es tematikaja:

Title: Search for Gravitational Waves with LIGO/VIRGO

Outline:
I. Gravitational Waves and the GW detectors
II. Overview GW searches
III. Inspiral search

This part will last for approx. 1:30 - 2:00 hours including questions and it will provide a short introduction to the GW detectors, the Ligo Sientific Collaboration (LSC), the different working groups, the different searches, but the main part of the talk will cover the inspiral search and the different pieces of the pipeline, including some recent results.
