Abstract                                                   
In the early 90's the so-called flip-flop phenomenon was discovered in a 
single giant FK Com. In this phenomenon the dominant spot activity on the 
stellar surface is seen to alternate between two permanent active longitudes. 
The switching of the longitudes happens usually every few years. In this talk 
I will discuss the observations of this effect, and the possible theoretical 
explanations for it.
