        "Statistical analysis of global temperature 
                  and precipitation data"

         This is an analysis of data from a large number of land
       stations over the Earth, with special focus on short and
       long range correlations, nonlinear correlations, extreme
       statistics, and relations between mean and variance.  The
       results presented here may be of interest for
       meteorologists, climatologists and other environmental
       scientists, applied mathematicians in statistics, and of
       course statistical physicists.
