Optical Amplifiers and Their Applications Topical Meeting
scheduled for Budapest, August 7-10, 2005.

The 2005 conference on Optical Amplifiers and Their Applications is dedicated to original research on the use of optical amplification and related technologies in the areas of: telecommunications, free space optics, sensors, and optical signal processing.
The topics of the conference are divided into the following three general areas,
- Fiber and Active Waveguides,
- Semiconductor Devices and Functional Circuits, and
- System Applications.
Further conference information may be found at
www.osa.org/oaa.

This is the first time that OSA has managed a conference in Hungary and we are very much looking forward to working with the many local optics institutions in this region. We are coordinating a local organizing committee. The purpose of the local organizing committee is as follows:

·      Help identify local scientists, students and researchers who will benefit from attending this meeting
·      Help market this meeting within their own institution
·      Arrange for local entertainment during the conference banquet
·      Assist with coordinating tours of local labs. or universities for conference attendees

If you are interested in being a part of this local organizing committee or know of anyone else who might be interested please let me know.
