We are looking for a Phd student to work on the E166 experiment at SLAC.
E166 is an R&D experiment for the production of polarised positrons. The 
positrons are produced from polarised photons which are emitted by the
electron beam in a helical undulator.
DESY Zeuthen has taken over the positron polarimetry in this experiment. 
The Phd student is expected to contribute in the setup of the experiment,
the running of the detector and later in the analysis of the data. For the
first two tasks some visits at SLAC are needed.
The student is expected to start as soon as possible. Some hardware
experience
would be an advantage.
DESY Zeuthen is part of DESY and is located in Zeuthen near Berlin. The
Phd degree will be obtained from the Humboldt university in Berlin.
