I am writing to you to share with the MIX community the sad news of the
passing of Professor Peter Debrunner. Peter was a long-time leader in
using Mössbauer Spectroscopy for the study of heme proteins and porphyrin
model compounds at the University of Illinois/Champaign-Urbana. His
