Dear colleagues,
As chair of the IBAME award committee, I am sending you this call to nominate
candidates for the following merit-based IBAME awards, to be bestowed during
ICAME 2025:

(1) the new 'IBAME PhD Award' to acknowledge outstanding contributions during
a doctoral thesis covering a significant contribution to an application of the
Mössbauer effect, maximum 4 years after the PhD defense date.

(2)    the new 'IBAME Achievement Award' to acknowledge a significant
achievement involving an application of the Mössbauer effect within the past 5
years of the call.

(3)    the 'IBAME Science Award' for high quality contributions to science
based on research that involves application of the Mössbauer effect over an
extended period of time of at least 20 years, thus being considered as a life
time award.

Please note that the nomination procedure, described below, does not need to
be supported by an IBAME member. Therefore members of your community can
propose nominees directly. Self nomination, will however not be considered by
the award committee, which consists of the IBAME executive members (Ralf
Röhlsberger, Yann Garcia, Cathrine Frandsen), Ercan Alp and Catherine
McCammon.

Practically, the nomination file shall include:
a)    a cover letter including a statement for which award the nomination is
for, your name and institutional address, the name, address and contact
information of the candidate, followed by a one-page statement of importance
of the candidate’s research and significance of the Mössbauer Effect to his/
her research,

b)    a one-page CV of the candidate, and

c)    a list of publications of the candidate with those involving the
Mössbauer effect clearly highlighted

These documents (arranged preferably as a single PDF file) need to be send to
yann.garcia AT uclouvain.be before Dec. 6th 2024.

The recipients of IBAME Awards (PhD Award, Achievement Award, Science Award)
need to be announced well ahead before the next ICAME, so that your
collaboration is very much important. Awardees will be invited to present a
talk during ICAME 2025.

 I recall the key dates below:
Oct 30th 2024: call of nomination
Dec 6th 2024: deadline for nomination
Feb. 2025: Announcement of IBAME Awards recipients
Sept. 2025: Invited lectures of IBAME Awards recipients at ICAME 2025
