Dear colleagues,


with great sorrow I have to inform you about the passing of Friedrich 
(Fritz) Wagner two weeks ago in his home near Munich.

Together with his wife Ursula (1933 – 2021) he dedicated his life to the 
applications of Mössbauer spectroscopy at the Technical University of 
Munich, with special emphasis on less-common isotopes that could be 
produced in the Munich Research Reactor.

For their seminal contributions to the field of Mössbauer science both 
were appointed Fellows of the IBAME in 2021. Our thoughts are with their 
families.
