Dear colleagues,

A call to nominate candidates for the following merit-based IBAME awards, to 
be bestowed during ICAME 2023 is now opened:

(1)    the IBAME Young Scientist Award for researchers up to the age of 35, 
for their high quality contribution to science based on research that 
involves application of the Mössbauer Effect

(2)    the IBAME Science Award for high quality contributions to science 
based on research that involves application of the Mössbauer Effect over an 
extended period of at least 20 years.


Anyone from your national community can propose nominees directly. Self 
nomination, will however not be considered by the award committee, which 
consists of the IBAME executive members (Ralf Röhlsberger, Yann Garcia, 
Cathrine Frandsen), Ercan Alp and Catherine McCammon.

Practically, the nomination file shall include:

a)    a cover letter including a statement for which award the nomination is 
for, your name and institutional address, the name, address and contact 
information of the candidate, followed by a one-page statement of importance 
of the candidate’s research and significance of the Mössbauer Effect to 
his/her research,

b)    a one-page CV of the candidate, and


c)    a list of publications of the candidate with those involving the 
Mössbauer Effect clearly highlighted


These documents (PDF files) need to be send to me at yann.garcia AT uclouvain.be 
before November 26th 2022.

Please remember to not reply to this list or send your nomination to this 
list!

Your message should only be sent to Yann Garcia.

The recipients of an IBAME Award (Young Scientist Award; Science Award) need 
to be announced about six to eight months before the next ICAME, so that your 
collaboration is very much appreciated. Awardees will be invited to present a 
talk during ICAME 2023 in Columbia.

You are asked to pay particular attention to motivate the nomination of 
candidates for the IBAME Young Scientist Award as the committee usually 
receive less files for this category, which represents however the future of 
our Mössbauer community.
