Dear Colleagues,

it is with great sadness to inform you that on 17 January 2022 our colleague István Dézsi, research professor emeritus of the Wigner Research Centre for Physics, Budapest, passed away after short illness at the age of 88. The memorial service was held on 10 February with the participation of the Hungarian Mössbauer community.

István was a highly respected pioneer of Mössbauer spectroscopy among both the Hungarian as well as the international Mössbauer community.

Our thoughts are with his family.
