Dear all,
during the annual ESRF User Meeting 6 - 8 February 2017
(http://www.esrf.fr/UM2017) we will organize a one day
Nuclear Resonance Tutorial:
"Nuclear Resonance Applications including hands-on practicals"
(see http://www.esrf.fr/UM2017/Tutorials)
During the tutorial we will put the main emphasis on our Synchrotron
Moessbauer Source, i.e., on 57Fe MB spectroscopy (transmission and
grazing incidence scattering geometry) in the energy domain. We
are pleased to have R. Brand with us for the data evaluation with
the NORMOS program.
The registration is now open until 22. January. For this tutorial
the access is restricted to a maximum of 14 participants.

Nuclear Resonance Applications including hands-on practicals
Organiser: Rudolf R¼ffer and Aleksandr Chumakov (ESR)
Monday 6 February: 9h00 - 18h00
This hands-on tutorial will
- give an introduction to the capabilities of the Nuclear Resonance
beamline (ID18) with special emphasis to Moessbauer spectroscopy
with the synchrotron Moessbauer source (SMS),
- give an introduction to data evaluation software (NORMOS by R.
Brand) and allow for following an experiment at the beamline. For
the latter topic participants are encouraged to bring their own
sample(s) for a test measurement in transmission geometry (57Fe,
focused beam size about 15 mircometer in diameter).
- Eventually, you should be able to evaluate the taken Moessbauer
spectra from your successful measurement.
*********************************************************************
Hope to see you in February at the beamline. Best regards,
Alekandr Chumakov and Rudolf Rueffer.
