MONASH UNIVERSITY POSITIONS

Monash University, in Melbourne, Australia, is currently advertising post-doc positions, with applications closing on July 31. Details are at www.monash.edi.au/research/academics/funding/information/monash/monash-fellowships.html

Also the School of Physics is advertising a Senior Lectureship, with details at
www.physics.monash.edu.au/employment.html

I am drawing this to the attention of readers of this web site because I will be formally retiring at the end of 2007 and my laboratory has no obvious new owner. The Mössbauer equipment includes four LHe cryostats, one with a 14 T magnet. Two have cold source arrangements and have been used for Gd-155 and Au-197. There are also two unique spectrometers for taking sequential spectra as a function of time for some reproducible time dependent variation, with a dwell time/spectrum down to <1μs. For those also interested in synchrotrons, access to international synchrotrons is available on a competitive basis through the Australian Synchrotron Research Program (ASRP). Details at www.ansto.gov.au/natfac/about_asrp.html. A new synchrotron is being built at Monash to open in 2007, but it will not have a Mössbauer beam line.

Good luck to any aspiring applicants.
