QubitsTuesday, 20 October 2026, 10:00, KFKI Campus, Bldg. 1, 2nd floor,
Conference RoomOne of the promising approaches to building quantum computers
is based on quantum dots defined in semiconductor materials, where the spin
of a single electron or hole can serve as a qubit. The main advantages of
these systems are their small size and compatibility with conventional
semiconductor technologies. However, achieving precise and selective control
of qubits, as well as reliable readout, remains a significant challenge. In
this talk, I will briefly introduce the basic concepts and main challenges of
semiconductor-based quantum computing, followed by an overview of our
theoretical research on the electrical control of spin qubits. I will focus
on bichromatic driving, which uses electric fields oscillating at two
different frequencies and offers new possibilities for selective and parallel
qubit manipulation. I will discuss the experimental demonstration of our
theoretical predictions in germanium-based spin qubits and explain how our
results may contribute to the development of larger-scale quantum
processors. Minden érdeklődőt szívesen látunk! - Everyone is welcome to
attend.Tamás Pusztaipusztai.tamas AT wigner.hun-ren.hu
