Zsolt Frei (ELTE/ Konkoly Observatory, Hungary): 
The first detection of gravitational waves, the ten years of research results 
since, and what the future holds


I will review how LIGO, the the Laser Interferometer Gravitationalwave 
Observatory operates, the first detection in 2015, and all the important 
results of about 300 detections since the first signal arrived ten years ago. 
Among others, I plan to talk about 
populations of  black holes and neutron stars, tests of general relativity, 
and the interesting and important kilonova event from 2017.
I will also outline the plans for enhancing LIGO sensitivity ointment the 
future, and especially the plans for LISA, the Laser Interferometer Space 
Antenna, which is planned to be launched in 2035. I also plan to announce 
possible projects to join for people who are interested in this type of 
research at the Konkoly Observatory.
