Absztrakt:
We discuss a special aspect of the quantum optical description of
high-harmonic generation, namely the possible role of entanglement in the
emergence of attosecond pulses. Recently we have shown, for an arbitrary set
of coherent states, that symmetric entangled coherent states of a many-mode
optical radiation always result in completely locked Fourier superpositions
for the expectation value of the electric field. In case of such an entangled
state, even a random distribution of the phases cannot spoil the locking of
the temporal Fourier components. By applying this result for a sequence of
high harmonics, the attosecond locking immediately comes out, regardless of
the phase relations. The question of whether these states are really
generated in the high-harmonic production processes can only be answered by
experiments, of course. Anyway, according to our theoretical study to be
presented in the second half of the talk, the process of collective emission
yields such entangled many-mode quantum states.
