Title: Advances in Nuclear Fusion

Abstract: A short review of our understanding of the nuclear fusion processes in the Sun is followed by a brief rear-mirror view of nuclear fusion weapons. I clarify imitations of such approaches in civilian use and focus on opportunities employing novel technologies serving civilian use of nuclear fusion. I discuss nuclear reaction cycles available to us. I describe the status of recently explored novel fusion approaches. I will offer an outlook with focus on systems which can be small in scale when realized. I will describe recent ideas related to novel use of nanotechnology to initiate nuclear fusion burn.
