Zooming into the disks of eruptive young stars


Young stellar objects are variable. For many of them, the variability is a 
direct result of significant changes in mass accretion, which manifest as 
brightness variations such as eruptions. The most efficient accretors, 
showing the most extreme variability, are the FUor-type YSOs. They serve as 
ideal testbeds for investigating disk evolution. In my work, I look into how 
such eruptions can affect the mineralogy, chemistry, and structure of the 
innermost regions of FUor protoplanetary disks, where terrestrial planets are 
expected to form. Those regions can only be reached with infrared 
interferometric techniques. In this talk, I will present a summary of my 
recent work on interferometric observations of eruptive young stars.
