Exploring the MOF Universe: Concepts, Applications, and New Materials from 
Our Lab
In 2025, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded jointly to Susumu Kitagawa, 
Richard Robson and Omar M. Yaghi „for the development of metal–organic 
frameworks” (MOFs). This presentation aims to provide a comprehensive 
overview of this class of materials. I will outline the historical 
development of MOFs, discuss their structural characteristics, key physical 
and chemical properties, and highlight their potential applications. In 
addition, I will present a summary of the various MOFs synthesized and
