Campus, Bldg. 1, 2nd floor, Conference RoomNanotubes of various kinds are
ideal platforms to create one-dimensional structures. The host nanotubes can
serve as a template to arrange molecules, sterically restrict product
formation in chemical reactions, and provide protection for the encapsulated
species. Due to recent advances in their production, boron nitride nanotubes
are emerging as ideal optically transparent, robust nanocontainers. In my
presentation I will discuss the application potential of these hierarchical
heterostructures through the examples of encapsulated graphene nanoribbons
