“Impact of elliptic flow on higher order flow coefficients in heavy-ion
collisions at the LHC”

Anisotropic flow coefficients ($v_{n}$) and their fluctuations are sensitive
observables that are affected by the transport properties of the systems
formed in heavy-ion collisions. The sensitivity of $v_{n}$ increases with an
increase in the value of $n$. However, $v_n$ with $n\geq 4$ have nonlinear
contributions from elliptic flow ($v_2$) and triangular flow ($v_3$), which
dilutes the system response to these coefficients. In this presentation,
using the event shape observable, transverse spherocity, events with smaller
and larger values of $v_2$ can be selected, which is used to reduce the
contribution of $v_2$ from higher order coefficients. It is observed that the
higher-order flow coefficients show enhanced damping effects with a change in
collision centrality for the events with smaller values of elliptic flow.
Transverse spherocity dependence of elliptic flow fluctuations is also
explored, which shows that the fluctuations are higher for the events with
larger values of transverse spherocity.
