"Generalized entropies: from information theory to black hole thermodynamics"

címmel tartandó szemináriumára.

Kivonat:

The aim of this talk is to present a comprehensive classification of the main entropic forms introduced in the last fifty years within statistical physics and information theory and to review the fundamental questions about the meaning of information. We will consider axiomatic approaches to the characterization of various generalizations of the Boltzmann-Gibbs-Shannon entropy, such as the Rényi, the Tsallis, the Sharma-Mittal, and the Sharma-Mittal-Taneja entropies, as well as the more general class of pseudo-additive entropies with a well-defined thermodynamic and information theoretic structure. Finally, we will point out possible applications of generalized entropies in black hole thermodynamics and we will discuss the challenges in experimental confirmation of the corresponding second law of thermodynamics using gravitational wave data and Bayesian inference.
