The LHCb/CODEX-b group at the Dept. of Atomic Physics, ELTE, has an open
postdoc position available immediately. The group has a broad range of
interests in precision tests of the Standard Model via rare b-hadron decays,
searches for exotic tetraquarks/pentaquarks and dark sector searches. For this
position we're looking for someone with experience in one of the LHC or
related experiments to work on the following topics:

-- commissioning of the CODEX-beta pilot detector inside the LHCb cavern in
2023/24 to search for long-lived particles such dark Higgs or Higgs ->
invisible decays. The work can include either/both integrating of CODEX-b
tracking/reconstruction/simulation software into the full LHCb framework, or
construction and installation of RPCs at CERN.
-- R&D towards a picosecond timing Electromagnetic Calorimeter for the LHCb
Phase II upgrade.

The candidate is expected to have either excellent software and/or hardware
