"The matter of quantum information"
Kivonat: Application of subtle aspects of quantum physics, including quantum entanglement, to information technology is poised to revolutionize computation, sensing, simulation, and communication in the 21st Century. Along with a growing list of applications standing to benefit comes a choice of materials. If the information revolution of the 20th Century was largely made of silicon—think computer chips and optical fibers—what will the quantum information revolution of the 21st Century be made of? This talk will consider some of the options and challenges.
