LAST MINUTE OPPORTUNITY:

EU funded PhD position in solar physics in Budapest and Sheffield

In the framework of the ongoing H2020 project SWATNET (an MSC
Innovative Training Network) there is an opening for a PhD student
starting September 2022 to do research on "Modelling periodic and
quasiperiodic variations in solar activity".

The researcher will be based in Budapest, Hungary. The scholarship,
of about 2,500 EUR/month, will be for three years, one of which will
be spent at the University of Sheffield, UK. Upon successful defence
of their thesis the researcher will obtain a joint doctoral degree
from both ELTE Eötvös University and U Sheffield.

Candidates are expected to have
 - a Master degree (already held, or expected by June 2022)
   in physics, astronomy or a related field
 - some experience in programming
 - a good command of English
Nationals of any country may apply, administration being significantly
simpler for EU nationals. Apllicants should not have resided in
Hungary or the UK for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
