Dear Colleagues,

 

It is our great pleasure to officially announce the First Zagreb School on 
Theoretical Physics organized by RBI Division of Theoretical Physics together 
with our colleagues from SISSA, CNRS LPT and LMU in the premises of Ruđer 
Bošković Institute in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.

 

The school is organized in two weeks:

 

Week 1 (June 26-30): is a full immersion into Phenomenology of Particle 
Physics and Cosmology, for PhD students and young postdocs. The topics 
include Standard Model and beyond, Flavour physics, Perturbative QCD, Dark 
matter, Cosmology and CMB, Cosmic rays, Large scale structures.

 

Week 2 (July 4-7): focuses on Mathematical Physics and Condensed Matter with 
topics including Entanglement entropy, Black hole physics, Higher spin 
theories, First principles calculations for crystal structure prediction, 
Reproducibility in density functional theory calculations, NMR 
characterization, Advanced exchange-correlation functionals, Microscopic 
theory of friction.

Please note: Financial support is available for a limited number of students 
who must provide a recommendation letter from a senior scientist and submit 
their application before May 15. Students from SISSA, LPT Orsay, LMU and NBI 
should instead contact the RBI-T-WINNING coordinator of the corresponding 
institution.
