Absztrakt:
Laser acceleration of ions from both solid and gaseous target attracts a great
attention because of its potential usage in many scientific and medical
applications, including hadron therapy. The presentation consists of two
parts: first a brief summary of the CERN School of Computing is given, and its
relevance to the high performance computing at ELI-ALPS is discussed. Secondly
several laser ion acceleration mechanisms in plasmas are presented, which
could be realized with ultra-short laser pulses provided by the HF laser
system of the future ELI-HU facility. The currently investigated Shock Wave
Acceleration, driven by the radiation pressure of the laser pulse, is
presented in more details. Particle in Cell simulations show promising
results, which gives us the confidence for initiating experimental campaign,
where this regime can be tested.
