 "Coupling of an additional degree of freedom to a chaotic system"


We add an additional degree of freedom to an already existing chaotic 
system. In the domain of the corresponding Poincare map there exist 2 
dimensional normally hyperbolic invariant manifolds (NHIMs) on which 
the Poincare map shows how this additional degree of freedom 
interacts with the other degrees of freedom. The development scenario 
of this restricted 2 dimensional map under increasing coupling 
strength is again the universal scenario of the standard map.
