Dear colleagues,

within a couple of months, our national funding agency FONDECYT should
again open its
competition for 3-year postdoc grants (covering salary and research
expenses)
for young researchers of any nationality who have obtained their PhD within
the last 3 years
(roughly mid-2011 to mid-2014, to be specified in the call). They have to
present
a research proposal with the sponsorship of a faculty member at a Chilean
university.

I would be particularly interested in sponsoring someone in the area of
compact
objects, MHD, or high-energy astrophysics, and colleagues at my Institute
might
be interested in sponsoring candidates in essentially any area of
Astrophysics.

If you know of any potential candidates (or are eligible and interested
yourselves),
please let me know or ask the candidates to contact me in order to guide
them
through the process.
