Kivonat:

There are several unsolved problems in geophysics. The mechanism of
earthquakes is one of them, and it is related to the deformation of
the Earth's crust and its failure caused by plate tectonics. Sometimes
deformations along the plate boundaries  (including earthquakes) are
compared to frictional deformation. In the presentation I give a short
survey of the main problems, some recent results and my related works.
