Applications are invited for a research position in theoretical  
condensed matter physics at the
Institute of Physics, Eotvos University, Budapest, Hungary.

The successful candidate will theoretically investigate electronic  
properties of carbon-based (nanotube and graphene) solid-state systems  
for quantum information processing. Further possible research fields  
are: (1) coupling of electron spins (spin qubits) to nanomechanical  
systems, and the use of those in quantum information processing, (2)  
spin- and valley-controlled electronic transport in graphene. Further

Both MSc-level physicists and applicants holding a PhD are encouraged  
to apply. In the former case, a 4-year research assistant ("tudomanyos  
segedmunkatars") position will be offered, and the researcher is  
expected to enroll for the PhD school in Physics at Eotvos University  
from September 1, 2012. In the latter case, a research associate  
("tudomanyos munkatars") position will be offered, with a flexible  
contract length between 1 year and 4 years. In both cases, the  
earliest starting date of the position is October 1, 2011.
