"Leptogenesis"

Kivonatos ismertetés:
All structures in the Universe seem to be made of matter (protons, neutrons and electrons), while all antimatter (antiprotons, antineutrons and positrons) has disappeared. The standard model explains the disappearance of antimatter, but its prediction for the amount of matter is many orders of magnitude below the observed value. Thus, there must be interactions in Nature beyond those of the standard model which distinguish between matter and antimatter in a much stronger way. The most attractive scenario is that of leptogenesis, where the matter-antimatter asymmetry is related to the recently discovered neutrino masses. I will review the basic mechanism of leptogenesis, the implications, and the prospects of future tests.
