"STEP: Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Program
at Case Western"

KFKI RMKI III. épület 2. emeleti Tanácsterem

Előadás kivonat:

An important mechanism by which new products and services are created for
the benefit of society involves scientists themselves becoming
entrepreneurs. In the past, many scientists pursuing this route have
learned their lessons in the "school of hard knocks." Recently, a number
of institutions have launched efforts to make this process more effective
and less painful. This talk will review some of these initiatives,
concentrating in particular on Case Western Reserve University's Science
and Technology Entrepreneurship Program (STEP). The talk will review the
structure of the program, the crucial importance of building partnerships
with the larger entrepreneurial community, and the need to help build
elements of critical infrastructure that may be missing.
