Abstract:

The possibility is demonstrated to form the hyperdeformed states directly 
(without the stage of compound nucleus formation) in the heavy ion 
reactions. The probability of neutron emission from the excited cluster 
states is estimated. The cluster approach provides a good description of 
the spectra and decay out of the lowest superdeformed (SD) bands in the 
mass-190 region and for 60Zn.
