Abstract:
The status of the construction and installation of CMS detector will be
reviewed. The detector first assembled on the surface is progressively
installed in an experimental cavern. A working detector is foreseen to be
operational for cosmics by end of January 2008. A second part of my
seminar will be devoted to a discussion of the general commissioning
strategy of the LHC detectors, with a particular emphasis on trigger,
calibration and alignment. Examples for early physics preparations will be
the main topic of the present seminar.
